Wilmar at Carbost on the Isle of Skye is a 1920s croft house on the shore of Loch Harport.Set in a charming garden and traditionally furnished Wilmar offers a homely welcome and high standard of guest accommodation. The loch is home to otters, seals and a variety of seabirds. It offers sheltered waters for exploring by kayak or canoe. There is fishing for mackerel and other species.

Close by the foot of the Cuillin mountains and 30 minutes from Portree the island’s capital, Wilmar is also ideally placed for walkers, cyclists, climbers and sightseer alike.

Most parts of the island are within an hours drive of Wilmar, making it an excellent base from which to explore Skye’s varied scenery and dramatic natural beauty.

The house occupies a picturesque loch-side setting in the settlement of Carbost which boasts a shop, Post Office, and excellent inn with live music and serving evening meals. Carbost is also home to the world famous Talisker whisky distillery.
